PSC Motor Replacements for Efficiency and Comfort

As a PSC motor manufacturer, it is prudent that you make fast decisions when one of your clients is faced with comfort or failed motor compliantly. At times the best decision that you have to make is not an obvious decision. This article will discuss of some of the best and most popular technologies that can be used to do PSC motor replacements.
It is crucial that you check the cooling and the heating anytime you replace the motor blower. This is just to ensure that the blower meets the OEM specification when it is installed in the new motor. The installer should check if they conform to the temperature rise specification of the furnace as it operates. He should also measure the flow of the air for cooling and confirm that it is operating as per the manufacturer's airflow specification. At most times the PSC motors are used when there is a need for moderate electrical efficiency and when starting the torque requirements. They are mostly used on gear motors, small pumps, blowers and on fans. These motors have peak efficiency just like that of the AC induction motors. It occurs at a point os speed between 5% and 10 % below the synchronous speed. The speed that rotates the magnetic field from the stator winding is what is known as synchronous speed. The PSC motors are designed in a way that it has many speeds, and it only achieves the peak efficiency when it is at its highest speed. If you use a lower speed like in the constant fan mode, then the motors efficiency decreases drastically.

One of the variable speed electronically controlled motors is the electronically communicated motors. They have the ability to control frequency and current on the motor winding and this, on the other hand, provides speed control and torque. Frequency and current control together with the use of magnets enable the ECM to operate at an efficiency of 80%. Induction motors can be made in a way that they can run at a single speed and be efficient at the same time but, ECM motors have the ability to maintain their efficiencies high across all the ranges of speed. The OEMs are enabling to work with PSC motor manufacturers so as to keep the efficiency and the comfort of the motors at their optimal place.

With the above knowledge in place, we would like to know the replacement methods that we have. One tends to wonder if they should order an identical original motor or they should contact the original manufacturer of the motor. You can use stock replacement to substitute the failed motor. On the other hand, you can also consider using the ECM motor to replace the failed one. It the system you are using is still under warranty then it is recommendable that you follow the warranty replacements.
If the customer is dissatisfied with the comfort, then you can contact the PSC motor manufacturer for a replacement. The producers will be willing to do the replace in the case of inconsistent temperatures like it becomes too cold or too hot.
